How to CARE for baby Axolotls:
Baby Axolotls make ideal pets
Housing Baby Axolotls:
Baby axolotls are very delicate, if you are trying to raise your own from an egg, they will need much more care and attention. For babies between 1-6 months, we recommend a smaller container to maintain and monitor them better, you will need a spare tub for aged water, this will be used to top up their container during water changes, as they can get sick from debris in some water or fast temperature changes. we recommend a water change 1-2 times a week depending on the size of your tub and the number of babies. Babies will be ok without a filter until they are around 4 months old, as a filter may suck them in or push them around, this will have a negative impact on them or result in losing a baby. once babies are older, they will become more used to normal water so for babies around 6-month-old (12cm) water changes should be safe to do without the aged water. for an axolotl around 8 months, standard water changes, housing and feeding are fine.
Feeding a Baby Axolotls
For babies 1-6 months, we start them off on baby brine shrimp, once they are around 3cm or 1 month old, we move them onto daphnia, when they are around 5cm we give them a small amount of blood worms and daphnia, once babies are around 7 months, they should only be eating bloodworms or other foods meant for adult axolotls.

Your Axolotl Baby's Health
Baby axolotls are very delicate, to ensure they're healthy, we recommended having the right water temperature, no strong current, the right food for their age and always monitoring them, keeping an eye on their food level and the water conditions.
Baby Axolotls care
If you notice your babies are falling ill, you may want to try some fungal treatment. 'Methylene blue' is a safe fungal treatment for baby axolotls, also helping with any other bacterial infections they may have.
